The Patriot XMR has 9 attachment categories. In MW4 you unlock each attachment once, and it then works on every weapon that accepts it.

Apex Attachment: Patriot XMR Volt
Adds an underbarrel launcher that sprays non-lethal electric darts to stun targets in tight spaces.
It blocks the Barrel slot(s). Apex Attachments do not use one of your normal attachment slots, and you unlock this one at weapon level 72.
Getting the Patriot XMR in DMZ
The Patriot XMR unlocks at player level 27.
In DMZ the player level only matters for leveling, because weapon levels and attachment unlocks are shared with Multiplayer. To actually carry a Patriot XMR into Hajin:
- Loot one from enemies, players or military containers. Weapons found in Hajin can have up to 8 attachments.
- Buy it from the Vendor (DMZ level 5) when it is in that day's stock.
- Extract once with the Patriot XMR Weapon Manual. After that you can buy the base weapon at the Gunsmith (DMZ level 10) as often as you like and add up to 5 attachments with DMZ Cash.
Any Patriot XMR you extract with can also be upgraded at the Gunsmith as a one-off copy. You can carry two weapons in and out of a deployment, or more with a Weapon Backpack.
