Does MW4 have Zombies?
No. Modern Warfare 4 has no Zombies mode, neither round-based nor open-world. That makes it the first Call of Duty since 2022 to launch without one. Its co-op PvE mode is DMZ.
Why there is no Zombies
Zombies has traditionally been a Black Ops mode (Treyarch), while Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare games focus on the campaign, Multiplayer and Special Ops-style co-op. Modern Warfare III (2023), Black Ops 6 and Black Ops 7 all had Zombies, but Modern Warfare 4 brings back DMZ instead.
What DMZ gives Zombies players
- PvE enemies in tiers, from basic grunts to faceless armored soldiers, drone swarms and robot dogs.
- Bosses. Lieutenants have their own loot rooms, and Commanders such as Colossus, Deathstalker and a battle tank roam the map.
- Crafting and progression. A 3D Printer, base upgrades and DMZ levels 1–70.
- The difference: other squads are on the same server, and if you die you can lose your gear.
