Modern Warfare 4's campaign is set mainly in South Korea during a full-scale invasion. It follows a young South Korean soldier and his squad, with Captain Price back on a separate mission outside the chain of command. Coverage reports 13 missions across three acts, with trips to New York City, Paris and Mumbai. Campaign early access opened on October 16, 2026.
Campaign missions that unlock Operators
Activision's launch post names 8 campaign missions that each unlock an Operator for Multiplayer and DMZ. They appear in the order Activision lists them, which is not necessarily story order, and they are not every mission.

Stranded keypad codes

How the campaign ties into DMZ
DMZ takes place in the Hajin Exclusion Zone, on the same Korean Peninsula. Its Story Missions continue the Modern Warfare 4 narrative inside a live server shared with other players. Start with our DMZ guide.
