Assault Rifle · 7.62x39mm
Kastov 762 in MW4 DMZ: stats, unlock and Apex Attachment
A 7.62x39mm full-auto rifle that trades fire rate for heavy hits. Its recoil is firm, so it rewards players who can hold it on target.
How it compares to other assault rifles
- Fire rate: 600 RPM, which is #6 of 8 in its class.
- Magazine: 30 rounds, which is tied for the highest of 8. The reserve holds about 3 more magazines.
- Mag dump: about 3s of continuous fire at the listed rate. This is our calculation, and burst or semi-auto weapons take longer in practice.
- Weapon levels: 68 levels to max it out.

Attachment slots
The Kastov 762 has 9 attachment categories. In MW4 you unlock each attachment once, and it then works on every weapon that accepts it.
- Optic
- Muzzle
- Barrel
- Underbarrel
- Magazine
- Rear Grip
- Stock
- Laser
- Ammunition
We are not publishing our own attachment-by-attachment build until we have tested this weapon in the launch version. Until then, the in-game Gunny optimizer in Create-a-Class and the FOB Gunsmith can suggest close-range, balanced and long-range builds from the attachments you own.
Apex Attachment: Kastov ARC
Replaces the barrel with an experimental emitter and built-in optic that fires an RF pulse to disable infantry, electronics and vehicles.
It blocks the Barrel slot(s). Apex Attachments do not use one of your normal attachment slots, and you unlock this one at weapon level 68.
Getting the Kastov 762 in DMZ
The Kastov 762 unlocks at player level 34.
In DMZ the player level only matters for leveling, because weapon levels and attachment unlocks are shared with Multiplayer. To actually carry a Kastov 762 into Hajin:
- Loot one from enemies, players or military containers. Weapons found in Hajin can have up to 8 attachments.
- Buy it from the Vendor (DMZ level 5) when it is in that day's stock.
- Extract once with the Kastov 762 Weapon Manual. After that you can buy the base weapon at the Gunsmith (DMZ level 10) as often as you like and add up to 5 attachments with DMZ Cash.
Any Kastov 762 you extract with can also be upgraded at the Gunsmith as a one-off copy. You can carry two weapons in and out of a deployment, or more with a Weapon Backpack.
