Using the PILA in DMZ

The PILA is the flexible option: it fires guided or unguided missiles, so you can lock a vehicle or fire straight at a position. Missiles arm after 11 m, so a very close shot may not arm; against vehicles the rocket always detonates on contact.

Getting the PILA in DMZ

The PILA unlocks at player level 4, the same level Create-a-Class opens, so it is available from the start.

In DMZ the player level only matters for leveling, because weapon levels and attachment unlocks are shared with Multiplayer. To actually carry a PILA into Hajin:

Any PILA you extract with can also be upgraded at the Gunsmith as a one-off copy. You can carry two weapons in and out of a deployment, or more with a Weapon Backpack.

FAQ

What is the PILA's fire rate in MW4?

Activision lists the PILA at 8 RPM, which is #4 of 4 launchers.

How do you unlock the PILA?

The PILA unlocks at player level 4, the same level Create-a-Class opens, so it is available from the start. That is a Multiplayer player level. In DMZ you get the weapon itself by looting it, buying it from the Vendor, or extracting with its Weapon Manual so you can buy it at the Gunsmith.

How far does a PILA missile travel before it arms?

Activision lists 11 m. Missiles arm after 11 m, but they always detonate on contact with vehicles, so a vehicle hit does not depend on the arming distance.
