Marksman Rifle · 7.62
MAR-9 in MW4 DMZ: stats, unlock and Apex Attachment
A semi-auto 7.62 DMR with high damage and moderate, manageable recoil. It suits methodical medium- to long-range play and is available from level 4.
How it compares to other marksman rifles
- Fire rate: 315 RPM, which is the highest of 3 in its class.
- Magazine: 20 rounds, which is the highest of 3. The reserve holds about 3 more magazines.
- Mag dump: about 3.8s of continuous fire at the listed rate. This is our calculation, and burst or semi-auto weapons take longer in practice.
| Weapon | Fire rate | Mag | Reserve | Mag dump | Weapon lvls | Unlock (MP lvl) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MAR-9 | 315 RPM | 20 | 60 | 3.8s | 73 | 4 |
| Oris 8.6 | 89 RPM | 10 | 30 | 6.7s | 70 | 11 |
| Mosin-Nagant | 44 RPM | 5 | 15 | 6.8s | 69 | 36 |

- Magazine
- Rear Grip
- Stock
- Laser
- Ammunition
We are not publishing our own attachment-by-attachment build until we have tested this weapon in the launch version. Until then, the in-game Gunny optimizer in Create-a-Class and the FOB Gunsmith can suggest close-range, balanced and long-range builds from the attachments you own.
Apex Attachment: MAR-9 Auto
A fully automatic conversion with a high fire rate and much more stopping power than the semi-auto version.
It blocks the Trigger Action slot(s). Apex Attachments do not use one of your normal attachment slots, and you unlock this one at weapon level 73.
Getting the MAR-9 in DMZ
The MAR-9 unlocks at player level 4, the same level Create-a-Class opens, so it is available from the start.
In DMZ the player level only matters for leveling, because weapon levels and attachment unlocks are shared with Multiplayer. To actually carry a MAR-9 into Hajin:
- Loot one from enemies, players or military containers. Weapons found in Hajin can have up to 8 attachments.
- Buy it from the Vendor (DMZ level 5) when it is in that day's stock.
- Extract once with the MAR-9 Weapon Manual. After that you can buy the base weapon at the Gunsmith (DMZ level 10) as often as you like and add up to 5 attachments with DMZ Cash.
Any MAR-9 you extract with can also be upgraded at the Gunsmith as a one-off copy. You can carry two weapons in and out of a deployment, or more with a Weapon Backpack.
