APOC-338 in MW4 DMZ: stats, unlock and Apex Attachment
A belt-fed .338 LMG with very heavy damage, a slow cyclic rate and harsh recoil.
How it compares to other light machine guns
- Fire rate: 554 RPM, which is #3 of 3 in its class.
- Magazine: 50 rounds, which is #3 of 3. The reserve holds about 2 more magazines.
- Mag dump: about 5.4s of continuous fire at the listed rate. This is our calculation, and burst or semi-auto weapons take longer in practice.
- Weapon levels: 56 levels to max it out.

We are not publishing our own attachment-by-attachment build until we have tested this weapon in the launch version. Until then, the in-game Gunny optimizer in Create-a-Class and the FOB Gunsmith can suggest close-range, balanced and long-range builds from the attachments you own.
Apex Attachment: APOC-338 Praetor
A ten-round high-grain belt that locks the gun to semi-auto, making it lighter with more damage per shot.
It blocks the Magazine slot(s). Apex Attachments do not use one of your normal attachment slots, and you unlock this one at weapon level 56.
Getting the APOC-338 in DMZ
The APOC-338 unlocks at player level 44.
In DMZ the player level only matters for leveling, because weapon levels and attachment unlocks are shared with Multiplayer. To actually carry a APOC-338 into Hajin:
- Loot one from enemies, players or military containers. Weapons found in Hajin can have up to 8 attachments.
- Buy it from the Vendor (DMZ level 5) when it is in that day's stock.
- Extract once with the APOC-338 Weapon Manual. After that you can buy the base weapon at the Gunsmith (DMZ level 10) as often as you like and add up to 5 attachments with DMZ Cash.
Any APOC-338 you extract with can also be upgraded at the Gunsmith as a one-off copy. You can carry two weapons in and out of a deployment, or more with a Weapon Backpack.
